The Bean’s bean #3
I can’t believe I’m on the third instalment of whatever it is that I wish to call this (very much a word journal but more like a verbal salad of sorts) and I’ve only just started to overanalyse everything!
There is a lot of comment and (if you will) stigma on social media around artists and artistry relating to creation and what its intended purpose is; are you doing things for yourself and to make art or are you doing it for content? The problem is is that it doesn’t think about the fact you could do this for both – speaking for myself (I guess I’m the only one who can and it would be weird if I wasn’t speaking on my own behalf) I make art that I find interesting and a bit fun and quirky and I show people because those people have found an interest in what it is I make. As the title of this suggests, I’m not always willing to make things in the first place but I feel if I don’t, I will rupture.
So I guess the purpose of this mainly is to keep folks updated who wish to be updated in another medium that is suitable for a slice of the pie who prefer to read the general collection that leaves my face, like a far less organised version of poetry.
So I guess after a few paragraphs of being verbose I should actually give you an update in some sort of form. Plans to release the second book entitled ‘ when you think of the world’ hinge on whatever funds I can collect selling my wares and the various pennies I can put into the ‘fund sock’ from the various rations I get from work. But the idea is to aim for around June 13th- it’s a Friday and that makes me smile. I shall fill you in properly with details at a later date. I can’t be giving you everything straight away now can I?
However, something I heavily advise you do is take a few quid, walk into Southend-on-sea city centre and take a seat in Utopia for a coffee, take them beautiful eyes of yours and have a little look at the collection I’ve put up. It will be there until the 3rd of June so there’s plenty of time for you to travel the distance. There is something that still tickles me about the fact I have made a bunch of little fantasy coffee shops (mostly fantasy although some of them are from real life) and put them into a coffee shop. Some sort of Coffee Shop inception, but instead of a spinning top, it’s a porter filter precariously spinning on the end of its handle.
Big love and as always, thanks for the support.
